Men's Ministry Finishing Strong

On Saturday, March 23, seventy men attended the “Finishing Strong” event sponsored by the LAC Men’s Ministry. Rain that day caused the on-campus service project to be postponed, but the meal and program went forward as planned.

The inspiration for the theme “Finishing Strong” came from Ecclesiastes 12:13— “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.”

During the time together, several groups of musicians led the men with praise music. Jeff Rose presented a passage from the Screwtape Letters that highlights the “fruit of the Spirit–Joy” that Christian men can experience when joined in Kingdom service and the study of God’s word. There was time dedicated to prayer, and Tyler Dimacali and Thomas Luong were recognized as faithful examples of the new generation of leaders in Men’s Ministry.

The event was topped off by a time of honoring Pastor Bill Mead and his Christian walk—one
that truly exemplified finishing strong. Irv Rager, Joseph Lyvers, and Henry Jones, all long-time friends of Bill, spoke to the group of the respect and love they have for him in heartfelt ways. In response, Pastor Bill thanked all the men for this “wonderful surprise,” and then challenged the men to live out the principle of the older generation teaching the younger generation. It was a fantastic time of Christian fellowship and thanks. Please look for the next Men’s Ministry event coming in late summer and make plans to attend. We would love to see you there!
